CRI’s catalogue has been acquired by New World Records, and the currently available information concerning this acquisition includes the statement that New World Records is “committed to keeping every title active in [CRI’s] catalogue and available at all times.” I have been assured by a spokesman at New World that this is the case, as follows: “The process of making the CRI LPs that were never issued on CD available again as on-demand CDs will commence this spring (in a month or so) and will continue until they have all been done. We are proceeding numerically so your titles may not surface for another year yet [i.e., sometime in 2010]. The speed at which we can proceed is somewhat contingent on the flow of funds but we are committed to the completion of the project. In addition, as these titles become available as on-demand CDs we will apply to the various publishers/composers for DPDs so that we can also make them available via iTunes and other such online services.”

In the meantime, some CRI titles are allegedly available for purchase from:

Qualiton Imports
24-02 40th Avenue
Long Island City, NY 11101
phone (718) 937-8515
fax (718) 729-3239

although you'd probably have better luck on eBay.

Zuma Records
Distributor: Empire Music Group
170 West 74th Street
New York, NY 10023-2350

phone (212) 580-5959
(Please check your local record store first; order from the distributor only as a last resort.)

Note: This “ZUMA Records” is no longer in business, though their CDs are still occasionally available. There is another company called Zuma Records which records rock and other popular music, but it has no relationship whatever to the “ZUMA Records” listed here. Copies of these CDs are becoming scarce and are difficult to find, though they are sometimes available from Amazon.com or eBay.
